1932(1):  Dr. E. Schliephake treats patients with swellings, fevers and infectious diseases using shortwave radiation in the 16 MHz to 67 MHz band. This is called diathermy. He notices that people who operate the machine without protection all get: “weakness in the daytime, disturbed sleep at night, then typical aches in the face and facial skin followed by headaches that keep getting worse.”
